Welcome to the Scottish Archive Network's Education microsite. The microsite features a variety of historical records from the participating archives of the Scottish Archive Network (SCAN). It is designed to support learning and teaching of History in Scottish schools, but also has a value for anyone interested in Scottish history between 1830 and 1930.

There are four units in the site:

Using Sources
Coal Mining in Scotland
Public Health and Housing
Women's Suffrage in Scotland

The content was written by Sam Henry, Claire Richardson and Iain Rose, and the microsite designed by Wark Clements. SCAN is grateful to the archives who provided images of their records and to the SCAN Users Group.
