TRANSPORT
Transport one hundred years ago was very different from transport today.

The petrol engine was a new invention but only rich people could afford cars. In cities, people used trams or walked. Horse drawn carts were used to move goods.

Roads were not very good so people used trains to travel long distances. Ferries were still used to carry people across water.

There are four photographs in this section.
